Collaborating to create professional outdoor in-person recitals!

Scottish Rite Museum

Collaboration, teamwork and persistence.  As our All That Jazz dance family knows by now, I am a very driven, some might call it Type A person.  I have been this way my whole life and am usually quite proud of my ability to get things done on my own.  However, the prospect of an outdoor in-person recital has proven to be too much, even for me, to handle solo.

Luckily, this week I learned that I was not alone here.  Over the years, I have been fortunate to become friends with many fellow dance studio owners from all over the world.  One of these more local friends owns a dance studio in Concord and she reached out to a couple of our extended connections to see if we could all join together in a recital stage share venture.  What has transpired is that over the course of 4 weekends, dance studios from Arlington, Lexington, Somerville, Billerica and, of course, her studio in Concord and us in Newton, are banding together to create this amazing opportunity for all of our separate dance communities.

Attempted separately, this endeavor would have been WAY too cost prohibitive.  But, together we are able to work as a group both financially, as well as creatively, to give our dance families the kind of recital experience we all so crave right now.  I am so grateful to be part of this special collaboration and I am so excited by the prospect of what this means for our entire All That Jazz community.

Can’t wait to see our dancers Smile and Have Fun on a real outdoor stage at the Scottish Rite Museum on Sunday, June 6th!
